New Year - same old sh*t

Well, we are almost through the first month of the new year and as usual, it's been a bit like the curate's egg - good in parts.
Bad parts - a very good friend of mine lost his sister to cancer, and another close friend is losing the same battle.
Good parts - my little business seems to be struggling a little less this year, and a dear ex-girlfriend of my son, who I treat as an adopted daughter, is right now enjoying a fantastic holiday in Australia. I know that's not earth-shattering in the grand scheme of things, but for her it is - she has cerebral palsy and RSDS (she's in constant pain) and this is only the second time to my knowledge that she has left the UK.
She has a blog:

and I commend this to anyone who feels they are having a hard time (Kas, this does not include you right now).
Start at the beginning, if you've got the time, and you will understand what it's like to be a young woman whose life is restricted not only by her physical condition but also by the attitudes of able-bodied people who think she is some-how beneath them.
Every time I feel sorry for myself, I think of Lynz, and then I just bloody get on with it.
And so, let's see what February brings. Details of a Neil Diamond UK Tour would be a good start!!

Life is short-every human being has the right to be respected, loved and needed.
There are some not-so-caring people in this world, but I suspect it's more out of ignorance than anything else.
At least I hope so...what's that saying about walking a mile in another person's shoes?
Try what I'm doing-up before dawn, make the coffee then sit by the window and watch the sun come up while the birds sing their dawn chorus.
Reminds me that yesterday's gone,today is a brand new day,and there's always a tomorrow..=)
Love and hugs from New Zealand
