Oak Island Getting Ready For Spring Break Volunteers

In the coming weeks a number of student volunteers will ascend upon Oak Island using their spring break to help with the recovery. Kudos to every single one of them. They could have used their free time in the matter that most others use spring break for but they chose to open their hearts to those in need. No accolades for doing so, no awards, no recognition, no pay. It simply warms their heart and that is the only award they want.
But there needs to be housing and amenities to provide for the students while they are there. To that end, Pastor Eddie Shauberger of Oak Island Baptist Church is requesting the following items for the churchs new bunkhouse and clean-up efforts. If you would like to help with any of the items needed or wish to make a monitory donation contact Pastor Eddie Shauberger at
shauberger@yahoo.com
.
Items can also be dropped off Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church, 1715 Market St., Baytown, TX. Their phone number is 281-422-2938.
Items needed for the bunkhouse include:
Cots with mattresses
Two small microwaves
Two 12-cup coffeepots
Two vacuums
Two small refrigerators
Snacks
Bottled water
Canned drinks
Hot chocolate packets
Apple cider packets
Boxed juices
New or used items needed for cleanup include:
Wheelbarrows
Rakes
Work gloves
Muck buckets
Golf cart

Some of Neil's fans on IAISND.com are trying to organise a group of volunteers to help in Oak Island through the message board on that site.
