Hot August Night / NYC DVD

I just bought the Hot August Night DVD at my local Walmart and wanted to let everyone know how much I am enjoying it! I felt bad when I did not get tickets for the Pittsburgh concert in August 2008, and though it is not the same as being at a concert, the DVD is still really good. Everyone looks pretty much the same as the last time I saw you. I found the "Welcome Home Neil" segment of the DVD very interesting. The part where the teenagers did not know who Neil was reminds me of a time when Neil went into a McDonalds and they did not know who they were waiting on. As Neil enjoyed returning home after 50 years, I enjoyed seeing footage of Madison Square Garden again after all this time. It may sound strange but just seeing pictures of the ramp at Madison Square Garden brought back memories of the many times we took the bus up that very same ramp.

for posting the address for the N.D. fan-club. It must have been a fun and interesting for you to drive Neil and his band around. He seems to be a very nice man, and his writing conveys an intelligent, thoughtful, poetic mind. He also seems to be able to have fun and just be a bit kooky at times.
I would imagine you are proud of the role you played in seeing to it that he got to his engagements on time.

Once Neil decided he was hungry for McDonalds, so we pulled into the next McDonalds we came to. Instead of having someone else go in for him, Neil went in himself. The funny part is the kid at the counter had no idea who he had just waited on. "Danny"

Hey, thanks for sharing your memories. I absolutely love the Hot August Night CD but the DVD is even better. Best concert I have ever seen. Neve seen Neil in concert but hope he will come to Australia soon. Cheers, Maree.
