Missed the CBS Sunday Morning Mother's Day special because it's not Mother's Day in Ireland till later... but read the blogs & am jealous !!!
However Neil - if you could "Play Me" just as sexually and as provocitavely as you did with Ms. Shirley Bassey - then I will be prepared to forgive BUT never forget..................

I love Neil Diamond's Music - I remember the concert at the Greek Theatre vividly as if it were just yesterday and on that particular night, Neil was at his very best, "Crunchy Granola Suite " got me up on my feet. My two favorites are "Play Me" and "The Grass wont pay no mind". I have both of the "Hot August Night" Albums of which I have worn out the first one along with the memory of being there in my mind. I also saw him in 1986 in Seattle at the Key Arena, I was 8 months pregnant at the time, guess my son Michael must have liked his music because he sure was jumping up and down alot to it, lol. And here we are 35 yrs later and Neil is still rolling out the best music ever.

How fantastic for Neil to put on this show, true to his promise given on the first visit to the Bitter End with CBS. To have seen him in this intimate performance would have been the ultimate Neil Diamond concert experience. These people are just SO lucky to have shared with Neil the return to his beginnings. I wonder... how did he feel back up on that same stage? I imagine it was a great experience for him also. 5 stars to Neil for doing this for his fans, and a 5 star CBS report with Neil looking & sounding fantastic and very relaxed! Here's hoping this special performance will make it to a DVD one day soon!
If only an experience like this could happen wherever he tours...I can dream

Have LOVED Neil and His Music FOREVER. SEEN him 32 times in concert.Met him 3 times. I try to record ever interview I know of. MISSED CBS Sunday Morning's Would like to see if not own it also. I caught the last few seconds,what a loss.
I had an autographed cd with 2 unused pontratrain tickets in it held and signed by Neil"To Virginia With Love,Neil"
A slut(Ilana shaefer) stole it just for pure MEANNESS and JEALOUSY. DEEPLY Heart Broken May never get the opportunity to replace. She CAN'T steal the memory of meeting this great man though.
He is TIMELESS,knows NO boundries. He is AMAZING!

It was sometime in the late 70s in Raleigh, NC that I saw you in concert. "Play Me" was always one of my favorite songs. That concert I remember you spoke in a whisper the words, "Come take me..."... wow... I never forgot that, like you were just singing to me. I guess that's the power of music. In the story of your new cd you tell about the process, a sort of 'solitary confinement'. Recently I finished a writing project that took me several years and it was like that for me, your experience I have felt. Thank you so much for the music! You certainly do touch people with it; it must feel amazing...
