NEIL DIAMOND'S CONCERT IN ST. LOUIS RESCHEDULED TO NOVEMBER 2

LOS ANGELES - September 05, 2008 - Following his doctor's advice, Neil Diamond's concert at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, MO, originally scheduled for August 29, has been moved to Sunday, November 2. All tickets for August 29 and the originally rescheduled September 10 date will now be honored on November 2. Refunds will be available at point of purchase. Diamond, who's recovering from acute laryngitis, remarked "I want to put on the best possible show for all my St. Louis fans so I'm following my doctor's advice to take a little extra time to rest my voice. I want to thank my fans and assure them that their patience will be rewarded when I hit the stage."

If I were faced with an 8-hr round trip commute to see a concert in a distant city, I would certainly call the venue first or log on or call Ticketmaster before leaving to verify there aren't any postponements. I did receive notification from Ticketaster, however the internet is an imperfect method of communicating and I don't totally rely on it alone.

Although I understand that Neil Diamond is sick and needs to get better, I am very disappointed in yet another postponement of his STL concert. However, I am extremely disappointed and angry at Ticketmaster for NOT notifying me of the 2nd delay. I drove almost 4 hours to STL, rushed around all day, got stuck in traffic and made it to the Scottrade Center at 7:45pm to find out the concert was cancelled. I was notified about the first postponement through e-mail--why didn't Ticketmaster send another mass e-mail to those who purchased. Am I the only one? I love Neil Diamond, but I am shocked that this happened. With ticketmaster being one of the biggest sellers of his concert tickets, maybe Neil's managers should have made it certain to announce to all his fans about his on-going illness. Get well Neil--I am not sure if I can handle another 4 hour trip in November. My birthday is this Saturday and I think I am too tired to enjoy it!

Hi Neil- Hope you are feeling better. I bought my mom tickets to your St. Louis concert as a Mother's Day present...you have 3 generations of fans in my family including myself and my 17 year old sister. I will be in NY for business on the 2nd and unfortunately will have to miss the rescheduled concert. Hope you are feeling better and please give St. Louis fans the show we deserve, as I know you will. Hope you can make it to our fair city the next time around.

Get well soon Neil! I had purchased my tics for Aug. 29th concert back in June but now I can't go to the Nov. 2nd date because of work and travel. I am so disappointed! I hope I can see another one of your concerts in the future. Just get better!

Neil if you need to postpone all 24 concerts to a later date, the fans will certainly understand and we will still be here. This is the least we can do in return for the 40+ years of incredible music you have given us. Steamy

Give Neil a break, his health is more important.

Neil is in a difficult position. He performed in Columbus when he was suffering, and look at the reaction he got from some "fans". He will not want to risk that again, as he is a perfectionist who really cares about his fans. So he is doing the right thing and following doctor's orders. It's impossible to please everyone. Perform when you're not 100% and people complain, postpone the show and others complain. In the end he has to put his health first, and you can't set deadlines on recovering when you're ill. It takes as long as it takes. He's doing the right thing. Most people will understand that, as we've all been ill at some stage. Sometimes an extra day or two makes all the difference, and those of us who love him will be delighted when he's 100% again and ready to continue.

Let's give Neil the time he needs

It's got to be tough trying to get over acute laryngitis and knowing you have 24 concert dates staring you in the face. A few extra days of resting the voice could make all the difference. If your name is Neil Diamond you do not want to disappoint the fans. The older we get, the longer it takes to bounce back from an illness we should all know this. You take all the time you need Neil.

I was really ready for that rescheduled 9/10/08 St. Louis date. Now, for the second time, I've had my hotel reservations served to me on a virtual plate for my consumption. How amazing that an extra 4 days of rest will allow you to perfrom over 20 dates in about a month and a half. Why would your voice be of any better quality after all those dates than they would be on 9/10/08?
I can no longer afford to play Neil Diamond roulette.
I've been listening to your music for almost 40 years and now regret I'll probably never get a chance to see you live.
Yeah, I'm a complainer, but's it's my right. It would have been more suitable for a more realistic date right off the bat than to be played like this.
