Chicago 7/27/08 Concert.....WOW!!!!

My wife and I rarely attend concerts, but Neil Diamond's performance at the Chicago United Center on Sunday 7/27/08 can be described in one word ...."WOW"!!!
Neil gave all he has for 2 uninterrupted hours and he has got a LOT!!
There were all the favorite older rockers and the newer ballads that were blended perfectly. In fact, I can't think of any his major hits that he did not sing. And there were a few songs I had not had the pleasure to hear before.
The tempo and pacing of the concert were perfect taking us to exuberant joys and then to thoughtful reveries and back.
He reached out to the audience throughout including those poor folks who sat BEHIND the stage and moved around the stage with the great aplomb of a confident star. But never showing arrogance or pride just warmth and pure respect.
He was backed by a group of fabulous musicians who insured all the songs sounded just as expected. There was no silly time-wasting stuff, just great professional entertainment.
And we the audience responded in kind with sincere appreciation and heartfelt thanks. I believe everyone took their leave with contentment, happiness, and not just a little bit of awe.
If you are thinking about seeing Neil in concert, just do it!
His show is not to be missed and is worth every bit of the ticket price. Don't hesitate any longer.
