I'm 40yrs old. Divorced 1989 when my daughter Amy was 1. Raised her well - she's beautiful inside & out. As an engagement pressie (personal one) my future father in law (RIP) gave me his LP The Jazz Singer - I still have it. I hated Neils' voice - at the time it just grated on me - it seemed so gravelly, so monotonous. Over the years, (it took about 10) I listened to my LPS & by God, he grew on me..like wallpaper. I began to hear & feel the emotions that were being conveyed through the songs. His songs emit a thousand emotions but his voice - just gives me --- peace, tranquility and something so much deeper, that a journey to the centre of the earth could never come close. His songs are such a mixture of emotions.
They cover youth's perfect visions, the breakups, the way off side yearnings and real love wrapped up with respect, passion, lust, trust, mistrust, insecurity and all the differences
that we have to contend/deal with in this life & last of all - loss.
I survived my divorce 18+ yrs ago and threw myself into living for myself & my daughter. I am self sufficient - own my own 4bed home - have 2 cats & 1 dog (the other pets died over the years) & one teenage daughter...what more could an insane asylum ask for (L.O.L)
I am proud of my life so far and extremely proud of my daughter & when I stand before St. Peter I can honestly say I did the very best with what I had. I never looked for another partner, (Neil will do..come on Neil email me or phone me..ha! ha!), initially I felt too insecure - tramtracks 'n all (stretchmarks to you fellas!) then I was just too independent - then I became comfortable with my own company and when you can accept that you've got tramtracks, or get a spot or two or are not a perfect 10/12 or whatever we as humans suffer with (which can fill the A-Z Brittanica) only then can you sleep well at night (unless ofcourse you suffer from insomnia)...
DESIDERATA - God give me the courage to accept the things I can not change - love (being accept) yourself first then all things will fall into place. Not necessarilly when you want them, but they'll be there. You just gotta sort them out then. God Bless & lots of love Paula
