ABOUT ME
i'm nearly 51 and have only recently found my true passion - neil diamond! yeah, i knew about him years ago but then thought he was just another singer/songwriter who always looked moody,so never gave him a chance really, didn't listen to his lyrics much, just enjoyed a catchy tune. i must have been such a boring twit! all that changed recently when i caught neil on tv during his recent tour of UK. i couldn't believe i'd been so blind (& deaf) all these years! neil has matured exceedingly well - his voice is absolutely incredible - he is much more attractive with age but most of all his lyrics captured my heart! everything he sang struck a chord (pardon the pun!) with me, things which had happened in my life, neil captured with such intense emotion all my hidden feelings over the years. i also have been thru' the breakup of 2 marriages, 2 children from each marriage, i am now married again and also have 2 stepchildren, only have 2 children with us now, rest have flown the nest.(could be a lyric here, neil!) i have recently read neils biography and it has opened up a whole new dimension for me. i could relate to neils feelings, especially of not being good enough and not fitting in with the crowd. i was clogged up with empathy at his struggle to make himself known as a songwriter - not that i have ever tried it but his intense passion to do what he wanted to do with all his heart, putting his whole soul into his work - wow- you blow me away neil! Life in this system is short and my life alas is spoken for but i truly hope one day to have the pleasure of meeting neil and his great band . NEIL you are making whats left of my life easier to bear (although it's hard knowing i will probably never meet you ).

Hi, saw your blog thanks! Not sure how to answer from my blog tho, still finding my way round this site! I'm off to Boston on 21 August, and come home again on 24th. Can't wait! I'm so excited. I've not seen Neil before, although i've liked him for over 25 years. Never been much of a concert goer, but this year just felt I HAVE TO see him! I think he looks better than ever and sounds so sexy! No, I'm not married, no kids, just 2 cats. I'm actually being made redundant later this year, but at the moment all I care about is seeing Neil! I just know it will be one of those "once in a lifetime" experiences, tho hopefully not once! I've got a seat in the 1st 10 rows, so I hope I'll get a great view. When he was in Manchester there were only bad seats left, so I didn't bother going, as I really want to see him up close. It is costing a bit, but I know it will be worth it! Anyway, it's great to hear from you, you're the first Neil fan who's answered me! Keep in touch!! Alexandra (Alex)
