I am the vic(Vicki)in stevico and the picture that is shown is of Steve before he was diagnosed with cancer and myself looking on. Steve was my fiance',best friend and the love of my life as well as the biggest Neil Diamond fan ever. We saw Neil in 2001 in St. Louis at what is now Scottrade Center and it was the greatest show that I have ever seen. Steve had seen him before and was so excited to get to see him again. He had wanted so badly for Neil to go back out on tour so that he could see him again. Unfortunately, Steve was diagnosed with cancer in August of 2007 and passed away on January 23, 2008. He did not get to know about Neil's new album or the upcoming concert at the same location that we went in 2005. I will be attending that concert, along with Steve's brother and 2 of his dear friends. It will be a bittersweet concert for all of us, but we know that Steve will be there with us.
Steve used to drive his friends crazy back in the 70's when he was ALWAYS listening to Neil, but they adjusted and knew how much he loved to listen to him. Another close friend of his found and bought him for his last Christmas the 1976 edition of Rolling Stone magazine that had Neil on the cover. I hope to be able to get Neil to autograph that in August when he does his concert in St. Louis.
Neil, you lost one of your biggest fans when we lost Steve and it is because of his love for your music that I am now truly a Neil Diamond fan myself.
Can't wait to see him in August.
